On green day and Miss Reese's last day, we spent some time in the morning going on a QR scavenger hunt! Kids worked in teams of 3 or 4 to scan codes throughout the school that were linked to questions we have covered in our curriculum. The kids had to "mall walk" to different locations, including the Lost and Found, main Office, Mr. Marolt's office, Mrs. Schantz's classroom door, the Media Center, our Computer Lab, our doors we use for recess, our classroom, and inside the doghouse in our room! Whew! Each question was linked to a few different answers and a hint of where to go to next, depending on whether they scanned the correct answer or not. When the kids were back in the room, they worked in their teams to make a digital book on the Story Creator app using pictures they took on their scavenger hunt. I was really impressed with how they used our iPads and used teamwork to complete the tasks. Here are some pictures I was able to snap as I ran around like a crazy woman trying to get pictures of each group! These kids can walk fast!
TTFN,
Mrs. Delzer <3
PS We miss you SO MUCH Miss Reese! Thanks for making the codes for the hunt! :)
Once the teams made it back to the clasroom, they took turns working on Story Creator to make books about the scavenger hunt. We can't wait for next year when they will each have their own iPad ALL DAY, EVERY DAY! :)
