Cat in the Hat Art

Last week, we worked VERY hard on making our Cat in the Hat projects! First, we sketched the Cat in the Hat's using pencils (I found an easy to follow 4-step process online). After they were happy with the sketch, they went over it in black marker and colored the hat and bow tie red. The next day, we painted the blue background and worked hard on blending the colors from dark blue to light blue. This was messy, but fun! When the paint was dry, we cut out our Cat in the Hat's and glued them on the background. Teresa, our classroom helper, finished them off by laminating all of our art. This project was hard work, but we are VERY proud of how they turned out!

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!!
